LISTEN PRESERVE ENHANCE
Leslie Robin Harrison arrived in Riverton in 2017 as the pastor of Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church. She became a part of the community not only as a leader of her church family but also as a participant in the culture of Riverton. You could find Leslie at the many community events from cheering for the racers at the Criterium to voicing her opinion at town meetings. In 2019, Leslie joined the Riverton 4th of July Committee and in 2020 she was charged with coordinating the park activities ensuring that the face painters, vendors and the petting zoo are ready for the children to enjoy an afternoon of fun. Leslie especially enjoys learning the history of the area and particularly the rich historical value of Riverton. Preserving the history of our area, which includes both the buildings, documents and trees, is important to Leslie. She is an appointed member of the Historical Preservation Committee.
In her spare time, Leslie is a grief and loss counselor and death doula who understands the sense of loss due to the pandemic and economic strain in our borough and country. Leslie earned a DA in Marriage and Family therapy from Eastern University. She is a board member of the New Jersey Harm Reduction Coalition and other social organizations that promote wholeness and “neighborly” love. You can also find Leslie in Trenton pressing our government representatives to look at issues and pass legislation which is important to our area. Leslie is a listener of nature and the people with a goal to preserve as we enhancethe richness of Riverton.
